Baby appointment 17 weeks

Hi all! We had a baby appointment last week. I am now 17 weeks and everything looks great. The midwife modified my due date a little earlier, so it is now 7/5. Will baby share a birthday with Mary Y?? Perhaps he or she will arrive over fireworks? We scheduled our big ultrasound for February 19 so hopefully we will be able to report the gender that day! Lots of love to you all!

Ballet Classes and Other Fun

Image
Happy January!  We have been having some fun these last few weeks! After weeks and weeks and weeks of asking, we finally located a tot ballet class for Kenley.  We are taking a break from gymnastics to take dance classes instead! Actually, her class is a "ballet and tumble" class, so it is the best of both worlds. Michael bought her the tiniest pair of ballet shoes ever.  Here she is ready for her first class! The class is Kenley and three other three year old girls - basically, a herd of extremely pink, extremely giggly, extremely excited kiddos. Poor teacher Sean. Kenley loved the class, although I think she was too busy watching herself goof off in the mirror to pick up the details of what teacher Sean was instructing on. After her first class, Kenley and I took advantage of an unusual beautiful winter day to meet Bebe and Papa for lunch and rock throwing in Mukilteo!  We also spent some tim...

Snow Day!

Image
On Sunday, KK, Bebe, Papa and I headed up to the mountains to visit Mary, Howard, and Megan at their new place in Roslyn.  KK was very excited about the snow and couldn't wait to go sledding.  After doing boring adult stuff like eating lunch, we FINALLY headed outside to play. This was KK's awesome plan, to hook the poor dogs up to the sled to pull her.  All was well until Kenley decided to dive into some of the deeper snow.  Then this happened: ... and crying ensued and we headed in side for hot cocoa and a warm up by the fire. Thanks to Mary and Howard and Megan for showing us around their amazing place, near the Suncadia resort.  It was a winter wonderland and a great day trip!

New Baby On the Way!

Image
As most of you have probably already heard, we have baby #2 on the way! We expect the baby to arrive in early July. MK is excited to attend our first midwife appoint (in early December). And we got to see pictures of the baby! We also had a 12 week ultrasound on 12/21/12, and the initial reports are that everything looks great! I have been feeling fine except completely exhausted.  Poor MK has been acting as primary parent for kid #1 while I sleep as much as possible.  Hopefully that will go away as we move into the second trimester.  We just told KK about the baby coming tonight.  Her immediate reaction was neutral, and she asked only "is it kicking?" and "when will the baby be here?" before redirecting the conversation to dinner and something else unrelated.  We plan to answer her questions as they come.  We are about 13 weeks along and expect to find out the gender in about two months.  MK has a gut feeling that it's a boy, we'll s...

Christmas 2012

Image
Hello everyone! Sorry that things have been quiet on the old blog recently.  We have been busy (and tired!).  Here are a few photos from this holiday season.  There are quite a few more (better) photos over on Michal's blog . Here, we have selected the perfect tree (from our local nursery). We brought it home and decorated it! Kitty loves it when we get our Christmas decorations, including his Santa hat. Kenley loved decorating the tree! We also had the chance to celebrate Hanukkah with our friend Maddy (and Kelsey and Charles). Finally, it is Christmas Eve! We spent the night at Bebe and Papa's house to be ready for Christmas morning at their house.   Kenley asking "Can we open the presents?" for the 1,000,000th time. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care... (and milk and cookies for Santa and the reindeer).  Here's the only photo I got from Christmas day - KK passed out on the floor after a llllooonng...
