Bringing Home Kenley!

Image
Rachel, Michael, and Kenley had a busy day yesterday! Everyone was happy to be home. This last one is a video!

What a Day!

She's here! 5 days late, the princess was born at 7:36 on 8.28.09 after only 4 1/2 hours of labor! Rachel was amazing. In the middle of pushing, she took a quick break to calmly say, "this isn't so bad!" which cracked up the whole room. Perfect baby!! Here's a little video of some clips of our day. If you got this as an email, make sure to log in to babykingsblog.blogspot.com and click "play" to view the video...and turn on your sound. :)

40 + 4 days

Hi everyone! Still no baby! Meanwhile, we are keeping ourselves busy - by celebrating Uncle Jason's birthday with the Friesens! Here's a belly pic in case we don't have another! Here's Michael telling the baby it is time to come out!

40 + 1 day

Hi everyone! Just wanted to quickly post that we went to visit the midwives today. Everything still looks great - internal exam showed some progress but nothing to indicate that labor is imminent. We scheduled appointments we hopefully won't need for next Monday (Aug 31) to do a 41 week check in (nonstress test, ultrasound, midwife appointment) and will definitely induce if we don't have the baby by the end of next week (Thurs/Fri, Sept 3 or 4 probably?). She must come out by Sept 6 at the latest! Meanwhile, we are continuing to enjoy long walks, spicy food, and each other's company! Hopefully will have something to report soon!

Due Date Today!!

Still here! Hopefully this will be the LAST belly pic...Peanut could come any time!! We read today that babies are 14% more likely to come on a Tuesday, so....? We spent the day cleaning, organizing, cooking delicious food, visiting Tessa, and trying desperately to think of more things to buy for Peanut. Unfortunately, we think we have everything! Here's a video of some things we did today... Not too exciting! Tomorrow Rachel has a midwife appointment in the morning, so we may have more info then. Keep checking your email for more news!

The Count Down Begins!

We are ready and waiting for the baby to come! Everything is washed, the freezer is stocked, mom is here, and Michal's professional development week is over. OK pot, we're watchin'!

39 Weeks: 1 Week to Go! (Hopefully!)

Hey everyone! 39 weeks and still no baby! We are trying to take advantage of our last few childless days, but it is hard not to get impatient. This weekend we had friends over for dinner, slept a lot, got a few chores done, went out to dinner, and went to see a movie. We also did some baby prep stuff - we rearranged the furniture to put a pack and play in our room for the baby and we installed our car seat. We also practiced diapering with cloth diapers - see how excited Michael is about it? Success!! 39 week belly shot - geez that's a big belly. And probably a big baby! Lastly, here is a pic of Michal and I as babies. Rachel's mom arrives Wednesday night to join the waiting game - she'll be here for 10 days to help out. Hopefully Peanut will make a timely appearance upon her arrival. Everyone cross your fingers for me!

38 Weeks and Back to Blogging!

Image
Hi everyone!!! I've been too busy to blog and now it is time to catch up with all the events that have happened since we last blogged! Here we go! First event: Bar exam. Done and done. 'Nuf about that. Second thing to report: The week of the bar exam, we had a check in with our midwives (we couldn't go to centering because I had to take the exam, so we just went into the office). On Monday July 27, we met with Susan. My belly was measuring a little big and she couldn't confirm the baby's position, so she sent us for an ultrasound, which we scheduled for Thursday after the bar exam (July 30). Needless to say, the ultrasound showed that everything is going just fine! They estimated Peanut's weight to be 6 pound 9 ounces. She is supposed to gain about a half a pound a week, so since that was over two weeks ago, we assume she is about 7.5 pounds right right. They also found that my amniotic fluid level is just fine, Peanut's heartbeat is strong, and the fluid is...
