Peanut is getting bigger! Maybe because we fed Baby Alfie's Pizza? 3/29/09 - 19 weeks

Second Centering Appointment

Hey all! We had our second centering appointment on Tuesday so I wanted to let you all know that we got to check in with Peanut, who has a "very good" heartbeat (152 bpm!). We also received some test results back that showed that we have very low risk for down syndrome, etc. All good news. Finally, we scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for April 9 at 9am! Mom will be in town for michal's shower and Michal will be on Spring break so they will be able to join us. We also started touring day cares this week - scary!

18 Weeks and a Garden!

Today is the first day of the 5th month. We are almost 1/2 way through pregnancy - can't believe it! We have another Centering Class on Tuesday, and there we will probably receive instructions on setting up our ultra sound! I finished finals last week and now I am on spring break, so we are hoping to get a lot done this week. Here's our project for today - a vegetable garden in the back yard! We wanted to make sure we had fresh veggies to eat to keep peanut growing strong. We decided to start small - and planted peas, spinach, and a variety of lettuce. Carrots and green beans to come! And here's a picture of me 'n Peanut getting ready to usher at the Village Theater!

Check out this little outfit Karin sent! All organic and no chemicals! And a book on how to reduce our chemical use at home! Thanks Karin!

17 Weeks - Happy St. Patricks Day!

Image
Hey everyone! We are busy busy studying for finals, etc, but here are some pics of some fun stuff for this week! We've hit 17 weeks and Peanut is growing! I feel like any day I am going to be able to feel movement. Here's the evidence - Rachel's ever-expanding belly! Peter said I wouldn't look pregnant until my belly stuck out farther than my boobs - I think I may have achieved it. See for yourself! (Thanks to rachel's mom and dad for the perfect maternity st. patricks day shirt!) Here are the great pieces Mary and Megan lent Peanut - a bassinet (deconstructed) and cutie cute table and chairs! Our house is already filling up with baby stuff! Another fun toy for Peanut this week - we finally ventured into the Baby Consignment store a few blocks from our house (score!) and picked up this swing! I never thought I would be excited about a swing, but I just read a great book "Happiest Baby On the Block" recommended by friends Chris and Sarah and it made me thi...

16 Weeks and New Books

Image
Hi everyone! 16 weeks has arrived, and we are feeling pretty good. Peanut is growing and it is starting to show! I have the beginning of a baby belly (or at least it seems so to me). The baby books say the baby is supposed to go on a growth spurt - i can't imagine, as I feel like both the baby and I are pretty large as it is! :) Hopefully I'll feel some movement soon. We are also probably a month or less (depending on when we schedule it) from our big ultrasound, where we check and make sure everything is still healthy, and of course, the sex!! Michael's guy friends all announced today at basketball that they are sure Peanut will be a girl. We will know soon! Latest update to show you, I couldn't restrain myself when I saw these children's books on sale at the U bookstore the other day! Keep me out of that place! Skippyjonjones, baby-style, Spot (a classic), and The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! I can't wait to start reading them to the baby. Speaking of great books, we...

Cute Gifts from Great Grandma Cay and Great Aunt Cathie!

Image
Peanut received a box from Grandma Cay and Aunt Cathie today - the softest cutest blanket and matching outfit ever!!! Also burp cloths and the "What to Expect When You Are Expecting Journal"! I wish the pictures could convey the soft fuzziness of the blanket. And the taggies are intellectually stimulating for Michael - I mean peanut! Thanks "Great Grandma" and "Great Aunt Cathie"! :) And another great gift from a friend at school, Jason Sykes - Corduroy!
