Hi everyone! February has been a month of finding ways to play inside! Here are some pics of Kenley at Gymboree (we got a groupon deal for 1 month of classes). She loved it!
Many people have been asking why we selected Kenley's name, so I thought I would post a little background. When we thought about what we wanted to name the baby, we wanted something that complimented "King" and that was unique but easy to pronounce, etc. We ideally wanted something that started with a K and that was two syllables long. We first heard the name "Kenley" from a person on one of our favorite reality TV shows, Project Runway: a fashion designer named Kenley Collins. http://kenleycollins.com/ We wouldn't say we named the baby after the designer, as she was not a very nice person on the show, but we still loved the name and decided it was perfect for our baby. Kenley is an English name and has been used for both boys and girls and also as a surname. It means "Royal Meadow" pr "the King's meadow" and is the name of a town in England (in Surrey). According to the social security website, Kenley is the 998th most popular name ...
Hi Everyone! We are at 35 weeks, and some happenings this week makes it feel like this baby is getting close! First of all, our first friend from Centering had her baby on Saturday- and not one we expected, since he came over a month early! She was supposed to be due just a few days before us, so when MK and I heard the news we looked at each other in shock realizing that Peanut could come literally any day. Better get that hospital bag packed (no, we haven't packed anything yet except extra batteries for the camera)! Second, we had our first Peanut event today - a lovely ladies' lunch thrown by the girls from "the crew": organized by Ally and Sheila, assisted by Nancy, Shakti, and Sarah (we missed you Emilie!)! Michal joined us too! We had a beautiful lunch at the 35th Street Bistro in Fremont with (of course) a pink peanut theme! See the cupcakes, circus peanut decor, and peanut butter chocolate favors! Add in some champagne, delicious food, and the best company, an...
We had our first ultra sound today!! We went to have Peanut checked out to make sure everything is growing ok. Looks like so far so good! First of all, Peanut is alone in there - no twins this time! More importantly, he or she has two arms and two legs, a normal sized head, an umbilical cord, a placenta... all the things an 11 week old baby needs! The tech said everything looked very happy. We were thrilled to analyze each of Peanut's body parts, especially the close up shots of his or her face. It is amazing how he or she already looks like a baby with a little face and everything! Michael says the baby already looks like him - bald! My favorite part was seeing the baby wiggling around - especially when I had to toss him or her around a little with a hula-hoop move to reposition for the camera. My second favorite part was seeing his little heart beat go pitter patter at 165 bpm, a "perfect" rate according to the tech. Now we just have to let him grow bigger! We also did ...
So cute! I recognize that onesie that Lily is wearing!
