30 Weeks: Graduation, Shower, and Centering

Hi everyone! We had a very, very busy weekend! Rachel's mom and dad came into town and stayed with us for the weekend, which was very fun!

First up - Peanut's first jaunt across a graduation stage - in utero, of course. We celebrated my graduation from law school on Sunday. Here's a very proud Michael with his graduate.

Thanks to all the family members who sat through the ceremony - and only two slept! (i'm not revealing which two).

And if that wasn't enough fun, we also had Michal's friends shower at our house on Monday evening - here are a picture some of the lovely bridesmaids (we miss you Shaina!), and Miss P of course.

To top off the weekend, we had our centering appointment on Tuesday. Peanut looks great, with a strong heartbeat (although she made the midwife chase her around with the doppler to get a reading, sneaky little baby!). My bloodwork, belly size, and weight all look perfect! Our topic of discussion this week was childbirth, so it was a lot of learning plus a tour of the childbirth center again! Even though we had already been there, it was reassuring to see it again, this time with the perspective of our own midwife. It was also nice to see it relatively quiet, as we have been hearing stories about hospital overflow in the Northwest with lots and lots of babies coming down the pipes! In general, everything is great, and I continue to feel super great (thanks to a lot of naps). The baby is moving so much I get to watch my belly move on its own - its like my own personal entertainment.

So now everything is back to normal: Mom is back home, Dad is off on his fishing adventure, and we can't wait to see everyone again soon! Next time we are all together, it will be wedding time (and the bar will be over - thank goodness)!
