Kenley and Cooper's Blog

As a birthday/Mother's Day gift to me, Kenley allowed herself to be photographed! Well, kinda. But we'll take it! We headed out to my new favorite spot at "the golden hour." Kenley was an adventurer, she crashed right into the tall grass, and had to be fished out of the too-deep creep. She's a good influence on her "even-my-boots-can't-touch-mud cousin, Lily. Cooper was also very adventurous (aka, he tried to crawl off the blanket to taste-test the grass, slugs, mud, etc. Smiling for photos is definitely her favorite activity. Uncle Jason had to really pull out all the stops for this one. This smile followed a discussion of "fart toothpaste." ?!?!?!

He may look cute, but this little guy is Patient Zero of our latest family plague. Today poor Papa was trying to take care of me, Rachel, KK, and Cooper, and this afternoon it hit Lily! Yikes.  The good news is sick days are always good for pictures. Here is little man working on his newest trick: crawling!

Kenley is busy getting ready for kindergarten! She's been working through the Bob books and writing up a storm. She and Rachel are tearing through the Little House on the Prairie books, and it's hard to tell who's into them more. On Saturday night I got to read with KK and got this great video of her reading all by herself!! Grandma Karin, you've got to see this!

We choose a perfect sunny day to hit the pumpkin patch this year! You can check out our pics here on my blog. I just updated the KK pumpkin patch collage. We've had so many fun trips to the patch with this precious girl, from just a few months old to a big 4 year old! Now, of course, she has her favorite newest accessory to bring along...an adorable baby brother!

I guess we should make it official on the blog... Cooper has arrived! Cooper was born on a beautiful summer Tuesday at 1:02pm on July 9, 2013. He weighed 8 lbs, 9 ozs, and arrived in spectacular fashion. We had a couple of false starts, including a full day at the hospital before getting sent home. This is really it! Happy to be home to Papa's house!
